Referring to the interaction with patients, families, and colleagues in the nursing work, this study emphasizes that the hemodialysis nurse is required to have a good attitude as a professional literacy. This attitude is not only regarded as part of labor but also increases job stress and further affects the quality of life. This study explored the relationship between emotional labor, job stress and quality of life in hemodialysis nurse. There are 250 questionnaires released and 204 effective questionnaires are retrieved. The percentage of effective retrieve is 81.6%. The statistical techniques applied independent sample T-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The results reveal that the hemodialysis nurse used the self-made questionnaires get the scores on the emotional labor, job stress and quality of life are all above-average. The “restrain the negative emotions” expenditure of emotions, and “personal reaction feelings” is the highest level of job stress, and “social category” is the lowest quality of life. Overall, hemodialysis nurse has significant predictive power on emotional labor to job stress and quality of life, but different kinds of study aspects have different predictive effects. Emotional labor has a significant positive impact on job stress, and has a significant negative impact on quality of life; job stress has a significant negative impact on quality of life, and work stress has a complete mediating effect on emotional labor and quality of life. According to the results and the literature review, discuss and make recommendations for the reference of hemodialysis nursing clinical practice, personnel management, and future study.
