In 1627 respondents, 38 percent of respondents are employed and 62 percent of respondents are unemployed. In the employed respondents, 24.6 percent of respondents are massage therapists and 0.5 percent of respondents are musicians and performers. This study aims to investigate how visually-impaired musicians balance their identification between personal feeling and changing environment. By adopting qualitative narrative approach, the researcher conducted semi-structured interviews with two visually-impaired musicians. The data were organized and categorized, and common themes were sought in order to provide insights into the successful process of self-identity of visually-impaired musicians. Two findings are concluded in this study. First, the psychological factors which influence the self-identity of the visually-impaired musicians include “disintegration”, “self-acceptance”, and “self-affirmation”. These three psychological factors constitute a gradual transformation. Second, the environmental factors which influence the self-identity of the visually-impaired musicians include “peers”, “significant others”, “utilizing strength”, and “supports from the republic”. These factors are also the important keys for the visually-impaired musicians to be able to return to the society. HUANG,CHEN-i LEE,YI-SHYANG WANG,HSIEN-LUN 黃振誼 李義祥 王賢崙 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 98 zh-TW
