Summary: | 碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 體育學系碩士在職專班 === 107 === This study aims to (1) understand the current situation of academic stress and school adaptation of junior high school student-athletes on the table tennis teams in Taipei; (2) compare and contrast the differences in the said academic stress and school adaptation against different background variables; and (3) explore the correlation between said academic stress and school adaptation. A questionnaire survey, including questions on personal information, an academic stress scale and a school adaptation scale, was administered.Research subjects consisted of junior high school student-athletes on the table tennis teams in Taipei. Using a stratified random sampling method, 540 copies of questionnaires were distributed, 476 effective ones were recovered, at a recovery rate of 88.15%. Data were subjected to analysis by descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation. Major findings are as follows.1. Moderate level of academic stress and school adaptation is observed in the student-athletes. 2. Significant differences are found in the academic stress with respect to grade years and academic achievement.3. Significant differences are present in the school adaptation with respect to grade years, academic achievement, tutoring or remedial instruction.4. A negative correlation is seen between student-athletes' academic stress and school adaptation..
