Summary: | 碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 人文藝術學院國民小學教師在職進修公民與社會教學碩士學位班 === 107 === The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of intervening influenza prevention courses in the elementary school. Specifically, the study attempted to determine the differences in students’ influenza prevention knowledge and behaviors toward the Influenza prevention courses.
This was a quasi-experimental design study with a pre- and post-test design. Two classes of students at an elementary school in New Taipei City were used as the subjects, with 68 in the treatment group and 66 in the control group. The treatment group received 7 sessions of a influenza prevention courses during 7 weeks, while the control group received no intervention.
A questionnaire including influenza prevention knowledge and influenza prevention study behaviors was designed by the researcher as the instrument. The major findings were as followed:
1. On the aspect of influenza knowledge, the treatment group had significantly higher scores in the post-test than in the pre-test; the treatment group had significantly higher scores than did the control group.
2. On the aspect of influenza learning behavior, the treatment group had significantly higher scores than did the control group.
The researcher makes some suggestions as follows:
1. Related current influenza prevention events or news should be included in the textbooks of the health and physical education learning areas.
2. A influenza prevention courses should involve more hands-on activities to enhance learning.
3. The school can be used to take advantage of the time to pay more advocacy-related knowledge for students.
4. Qualitative methods can be used for the study on influenza prevention behaviors to improve students’ behaviors on influenza prevention.
Based on the conclusion, this study proposed suggestions to educators and future researches as a reference for implementing or researches the influenza prevention with character in the future.
