Taiwan is facing environmental problems due to increased urbanization and car ownership. In this context, the emergence of electric carsharing in Taiwan seems to be promising in terms of sustainable transportation. During this initial phase it is crucial to investigate consumer acceptance and motivations. In this master thesis, a sample of 298 respondents has been collected in Taiwan to understand the determinants of consumers’ intentions to use electric carsharing. An integrated model of the theory of reasoned action model, extended by the constructs egoistic and altruistic motives influencing attitude, and the technology acceptance model is used as research framework. The results indicate that attitude toward electric carsharing and perceived usefulness are positively related with consumers’ intentions to adopt electric carsharing. Altruistic and egoistic motives and perceived ease of use influence the adoption intentions indirectly and are positively related with attitude and perceived usefulness. Contrary to the expectations, subjective norm has no significant effect on intentions to use electric carsharing. The results confirm the appropriateness and a high degree of explanatory power of the integrated model. Based on the empirical results, practical implications and suggestions for future research are discussed. Mei-Fang Chen 陳美芳 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 88 en_US
