Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 劇場設計學系碩士班 === 107 === The production of a stage performance has to be done by many people working and brainstorming together. Under the wave of digital technology popularization, how the information will be stored, processed, or transferred does not seem to be limited by time or space anymore; the improvement of software and hardware technology has greatly increased the efficiency of data integration and analysis. Therefore, with the help of cloud-based software, the technical designers can work through the scenic production as well as share, communicate and discuss more quickly and accurately with their colleagues. In my thesis production, I picked Google Sheets and Fusion 360 as my cloud-based software tools accordingly. Google Sheets is mainly used for analyzing all the data relevant to people, events, time, place, objects and related information. It could show the capabilities of cloud technology and database in the process of scenic production. The analysis, accessibility and standardization of data structure would be discussed. I wish this experiment could be examined by others who might someday benefit from the path I'd walked through. Through the Google script editor, pivot table, conditional formatting and other data analysis functions, we can have a flexible and expandable production management system with relatively low requirements in hardware. Starting with realizing the stage design, I used Fusion 360 to design the scenic structures, construction drawings with accurate dimensions, material selection, the process of how they would be built, etc. Third-party companies (such as McMaster) also provide libraries of 3D parts through Fusion 360 to shorten the user's modeling time. Besides, the cloud server of Fusion 360 is really convenient for sharing, allowing my team members to browse, view or download 3D models with efficiently. The efficiency and integrity of the technical design are the keys to a theater production. New features of cloud software definitely will enhance users' experience in production planning and design. In this journey with Google Sheets and Fusion 360, I had a more thorough understanding of how the information and database could be explored and broadcast for technical planning, design, simulation, and implementation.
