Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 音樂學研究所 === 107 === Salon is a gathering which Gabriel-Urbain Fauré (1845 – 1924 ) never stop attending for whole life. His personality, salonnières’ tastes and their fond of music are the reasons that made Fauré become a popular salon guest. Mme. Pauline Viardot (1821 – 1910 ), Mme. Marie Clerc ( ? ), Mme. Marguerite Baugnies (1850 – 1930 ), Mme. Emma Bardac (1862 – 1934 ), Countess Greffulhe (1860 – 1952 ), and Winnaretta Singer (1865 – 1943 ) are the salonnières who not only once accepted music works that Fauré dedicated but also had influences on his compositions. Apart from summarizing the history of French salon, this thesis also points out the music genres which may appear in salons and introduces the salonnière-composers during the French Third Republic. Fauré’ s life and his experience in the public spheres are also the topics in it. Furthermore, this thesis would narrate how Fauré’ s six salonnière friends managed their salons and recount how they got along with Fauré, sorting out the works which had relations with him. Finally, in the fifth chapter “Six Dedicated Works”, besides work analyses, it would focus on Fauré and salonnières’ attitudes towards the works as well.
