Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 美術學系碩(博)士班 === 107 === This dissertation works on the dialectics between thoughts of creation and observations of culture. The artist himself explores these topics through his key elements: light, site-specific installation, sound of music and live performance.
<Overlooked Sites> observes contemporary ‘Táo Huā Yuán’ refers to our society, where lifestyles of leisure and industrial development, stands in contrast to rural sites hidden within modern city scenery. It is a narrative of the artist guiding the audience to ‘discover’ the cultural phenomenon of ‘Táo Huā Yuán’ through camera lens and scooter lights. Afterwards the project developed into a ‘recreation’ of these micro environment in the shape of site-specific installation attached to a exhibition space.
The third part of the thesis is <the Sound of Music that Travels Through Times and Spaces>. There are two site-specific performative sound pieces, that create a poetic time line connecting different times and historical events in relation to modern society. In the end, returning to the main topic <Hall of Wealth at Heart>, analyzing cultural phenomena that the artist engage his practice in, and thereby revealing his heart.
