Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 美術學系碩(博)士班 === 107 === This thesis explores my very desire in regards to form-shaping. With the observations of personal sculpturing patterns, both in a practical and sensational manner, I conclude two main forces intertwined in my expression of art: Firstly, the influence of Taiwanese local architecture where delivers a variety of visual perceptions. And how it motivates me to visualize the impressions into art. Second is the psychological pursuit to orders; a kind of primitive anxiety that arises when a sequence is to construct from the chaotic nature. These two factors, when being addressed in different proportions, can be woven into a sort of language which combines with multiple elements, such as material, structure, space and image. In chapter one, I organize some subjects that have been developed in my artwork chronically. From the beginning of textural pursuit, to the thought of connections between object and space, and finally the layered arrangement of characteristics and imageries in fragmented spheres. The second chapter specifies the psycho-logical demand for orders by researching decorative patterns and textiles that we can find in ancient hand-crafted potteries and architecture. In between the com-position of decorative lines and structure that I created in my artwork, I attempt to find how inner desire triggers creative activities in a primitive way. The third chapter discusses the analysis of my own solo exhibition: Diffuse Contour. Follow up on the thoughts of the previous content, I take this exhibition as a result of my exploration in material relationships with spacial experience, and explain how I distinguish my work from traditional sculptures and also the means to approach this goal. This solo exhibition not only ultimately provides me with a temporary conclusion, but also points out a direction that I can follow for now.
