Moreover, the control method is examined in a way to maintain the high efficiency of the motor. Electric wheelchairs and elderly scooters are one of the important mobility aids for the elderly. In order to improve the endurance of the scooter, a roller-type CVT was designed. In this study, computer software MATLAB was used to calculate the CVT. The range of shifting, overall operating mode and control process was analyzed in a closed-loop control system. Moreover, stimulating the nine major states that the occupant will encounter during the use of the machinery was done in the experiment. By using the converter, the main roller-type CVT was able to automatically adjust based on environmental factors. In this case, the motor can be maintained in the efficiency range. This study confirms that the use of this mechanism in elderly scooters can increase the number of millage traveled; significantly reducing the cost, time, and errors in the subsequent physical development process.
