According to the report “Mobile Payment in Taiwan” published by Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC), it shows more the utilization rate of mobile payment attained 50%, which represents the way that people consume is changing. The report also indicates that mobile payment especially is used dramatically in convenience stores. The convenience stores in Taiwan have launched their own mobile payment application to hit the market. This present study aims to explore the way that consumer use mobile payment in convenience stores. The study also borrowed from many previous studies by grounding on a series of terms “Safety, Suitability and Convenience.” The present study adopts the mixed approach that contains interviews and observations on the basis of Electronic Payment, Electronic Ticket, and Third Party Payment. The utilization rate of electronic ticket payment achieves more than 90% which meets the anticipation of convenience and usability that is what consumers believe in. Furthermore, the third party payment of binding credit cards is restricted the law of Regulations Governing Institutions Engaging in Credit Card Business. It limits the popularity and only targets the people who are financially independent. Presently, using mobile payment in convenience stores is only approximately 30%. Although there are various ways of mobile payment, it is still a lack of integration. The most popular way that people conduct purchase in convenience stores is still paying in cash.
