Considering that the elevator control needs to readout the elevator stopping position or door opening position, but currently used optical encoder have to recalibrate the initial position after system reboot or power failure. The multi-turn magnetic encoder has the advantages of simple structure, low material cost, and resistance to environmental changes, furthermore can solve the position recalibration problem that occur after power failure. In this thesis, a test platform is built by TLE5009 magnetic sensor from Infineon and the RX63T MCU from Renesas. In order to achieve a wider range of detection, a multiple gear structure is implemented together to acquire angle information from different axes, after that absolute position of the system is calculated through the system platform. The multi-turn magnetic encoder produced in this thesis has a maximum absolute position count of 2,275 turns. The results show, the resolution is about 0.088° and the angular error is about 0.2° to 1.5° depending on the speed. The above results verify the correctness of the design and experiment.
