Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 化學工程與生物科技系化學工程碩士班 === 107 === The waste water from the industry usually contains many different types of dyes. To deal with these dyes. Low cost, natural and effective adsorbent needs to develop for the dyes treatment and environmental sustainability. Aquilaria agallocha Roxb. is widely planted in South East Asia, and not applied well except for the stem. The husk of Aquilaria agallocha Roxb. was utilized in to combine with chitosan and alginate, respectively, and applied to the adsorption study of reactive blue 4 (RB4) and Crystal violet (CV). Different operating factors such as pH, temperature, adsorbent dosage and adsorption time were studied to determine the effects of the dye adsorption process. The results of the adsorption experiment show that RB4 adsorbed onto chitosan-based adsorbent has the best adsorption capacity in the conditions of pH 3, the adsorbent dosage 2.5 g/L, temperature 40°C and adsorption time 420 minutes; the conditions for CV adsorbed onto alginate-based adsorbent were pH 9, the adsorbent dosage 2.0 g/L, temperature 50°C and adsorption time 360 minutes. The adsorption data of these two type adsorbents are represented well by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isotherm model. The adsorbents have good selectivity, excellent regeneration and reuse abilities, and the composites are potential adsorbents for the treatment of dyes in waste water.
