From the material selection on the body, plating, to its geometry design, its complexity is much beyond than what I have known as the mouthpiece. In addition, the complexity of its mold making manufacturing process in CNC and cost is much higher than we can imagine. That is why there are not many Taiwanese companies dedicating to this component. As a result of this, the investment in the mouthpiece of saxophone is much lower than main body which is somehow force most manufacturers heavily rely on OEM or seek directly import mouthpiece from foreign brands. Being an enthusiast of saxophone, I’m having hard time when selecting the best mouthpiece from existing products in the market which model is the most suitable, what kind a the difference between the designs in A vs B, and which brand is the best. So, that was the motivation pushing forward in studying, researching, and developing the fundamental understanding of this mouthpiece. This study applies the TRIZ engineering parameter contradiction theory 39 and 40 inventions innovation principles which was founded by Altshuller in 1946 to study the key factors of saxophone design, and true manufacture and test. Study the difference in size of each part as well as the impact of material and various detail on the tone. CHEN, KAI-YING 陳凱瀛 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 51 zh-TW
