The small and medium enterprise(SME) is the catalyst of the Taiwan’s economical development, its proportion accounts for 96% of the total manufacturing industry, recruiting at around 73% of the total manufacturing labor force. The contribution of the SME to Taiwan’s labor market and economic stability is perceptible. In the intensive competition of market globalization, low cost, fast response and flexibility are the strength of SME, however, fund deficient and transformation difficulties are the reflected image of its strength.
Mass production being the result of production revolution, the importance of management method to maximize production performance is the key of all enterprises, also relating to logistic and system support management. The case study is to explore the implementation of digital tool into SME management so to improve management efficiency and lowering operation cost. The revolution process of digital management shall be firstly understood by literature analysis to seek any available element. By interviewing user of ERP system, the insufficient areas of the current system can be aware. In addition, by utilizing the ideal solution (IFD) in the TRIZ theory, the analysis of current system can then accomplish a truly efficient digital management.
According to the result of the analysis, the major factor to affect efficiency is the lack of horizontal connection of the ERP system and the in-plant logistic management not seriously taken. Due to limited manpower in the near future, automation and unmanned production site is unavoidable. Nevertheless, a consummate management system for both production plant and management level should be a trend aimed to lighten operator’s burden in the future.
