Summary: | 碩士 === 東海大學 === 高階經營管理碩士在職專班 === 107 === Taiwan has been the global top ones in both the advance of technology and competitiveness rankings; among the international important invention exhibitions, the performance of Taiwan has improved steadily. While the innovative start-ups have sprouted up everywhere; however, there are considerable gaps exist between the performance of scientific research, market demands, and the responses of local connections.
The roles that college education plays should adjust accordingly to cope with globalization and social needs. When the world is discussing innovative start-ups; nevertheless, start-ups should subvert the existing innovations and seek for the approaches to handle future challenges. Therefore, the “innovative universities” that hold the mission of educating pioneering talents play decisive roles. Through reshaping culture internally, cultivating systems, developing governmental plans, and relaxing regulations to build a relationship with the industries and the government, which shortens the gaps between education and applications.
This study conducts both “Document Analysis” and “Interview Method” to organize the meaning and elements of innovative universities from the perspectives of experts and scholars. As a result, the study concludes that a complete innovative college equips with the abilities in scientific research and innovation to cultivate pioneering talents; the elements contribute the development include research and development funding, leadership core, systems and regulations, innovative spirits, and industry connections. Additionally, the performance of cultivating pioneering talents would continuously promote the development of the college and increase the competitiveness of the country. Based on the result of this study, the final part offers relevant suggestions to the countries and schools that desire to develop innovative universities.
