In the agricultural period, Taiwanese proverbs are the wisdom and experience accumulated by the ancestors. The native Taiwanese are the largest ethnic groups in Taiwan. Research adopts the literature review to explore the Taiwanese proverbs containing the culture of respect for the millet, and uses the concept of speculative design and Roland Barthes’ Symbolism. The study produces three designs, "Shutou Gong - joss-stick", "Cat - Children's Meal Aid", "Dou Ma Lai Bo - Taiwanese Folk Puzzle", trying to imply the culture of respect for the millet in the proverbs.After collecting 50 responses of the public, these design can be seen as a innovative and inspirational daily tools to express the importance of respecting millet and the effort of farmer.
