| Summary: | 碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 食品營養與保健生技學系 === 107 === A long time ago, Taiwan was classified as an agricultural society and widespread disease was common; also, there were very few Chinese medical doctors and Chinese medicine stores. This lead to people relying on their neighbors and herbal experts for medical advice. People also went into the mountains to get herbs or they went to herbal stores. From these herbs, people turned them into medicine to heal cuts, snake bites, and bruises. Because of the lack of traditional Chinese doctors, In this thesis, we used peanut root pumpkin seed compound and Ban Zhi Lian compound which are traditional prescriptions to evaluate anti-inflammatory cells and the cell survival rate of prostate cancer. We did a cell viability test using LPS induced RAW 264.7 NO macrophage, prostate cancer cells, LNCaP cells, and prostate cancer C4-2 cells, MTT cell viability studies were performed. The test results showed that the cells cytotoxicity survival rate is up to 1000 mg/ml, which is not a toxic dose. From this, we derived that the decrease in the amount of inflammatory mediator secretion is not due to the decrease in the cell’s mass. Furthermore, LPS induced the effects of NO on RAW 264.7 macrophages. Also, peanut root pumpkin seed ingot and Ban Zhi Lian No.6 ingot and Ban Zhi Lian No.8 compound extract can be significantly inhibited resulting in the cellular inflammatory mediator of Nitrate induced by LPS (p<0.001). In addition, we used potato root pumpkin seed extract, Ban Zhi Lian No.6 ingot extract, and Ban Zhi Lian No.8 ingot extract, with the prescription concept, the compounds then interact separately, and we conducted statistics for 24, 48 and 72 hours. The results showed a concentration of 2000 mg/ml has a significant inhibitory effect, and Ban Zhi Lian No.6 extract can reduce 60% of the LNCaP cell line MTT in 48 hours, 40% in 72hours. Moreover, Ban Zhi Lian No.8 extract can reduce 10% of the LNCaP cell line MTT in 72 hours. Prostate cancer cell line C4-2 can be reduced 60% in 48 hours, 30% in 72 hours by Ban Zhi Lian No. 6 extract in 500 mg/ml. Ban Zhi Lian No.8 ingot extract can even reduce 10% or so of C4-2 cell line in 24, 48 and 72 hours. Therefore, traditional prescriptions peanut root pumpkin compound and Ban Zhi Lian compound that were spread among the people have anti-inflammatory and inhibits prostate cancer cells at an appropriate dose.
