Description
Summary:碩士 === 基督教台灣浸會神學院 === 基督教神學研究所 === 107 === After entering the stage of an “aging society” in 1993, Taiwan has now entered the stage of an “aged society” in March of 2018, which means that one out of every seven people in the country is a senior citizen. It is anticipated that Taiwan will become a “super-aged society” by 2026. To face the aging population boom, churches must address this challenge and respond to the needs of the elderly. The “Wonderful Club” is an elderly ministry model which has been promoted throughout Taiwan by the Chinese Christian Evangelistic Association in recent years. Its strategy is to make health promotion its theme, to maintain or enhance the physical and spiritual health of the elderly, to improve group relationships, and furthermore, to achieve the goal of whole-person health and active-aging by well-designed courses, and interesting and beneficial healthy activities. At present, nearly 60% of the churches in Taiwan are under 100 people. Therefore, the author chose “Double Mile Church”, a community-oriented small church, for research and interviews. Although the resources and manpower of this church are limited, it has obtained good results and can be an example or a reference for other churches since the launch of their “Wonderful Club”. After discussing the research results and related literature, the researcher of the project has concluded the following: (1) The importance of health enhancement. (2) The importance of love, respect, accept and learn. (3) The comprehensive integration of the body, the mind and the spirit will lead to a complete healthy person. Last but not least, the researcher makes the following suggestions and visions to the church who would like to service the elders: (1) The proposal of building up the concept to service the elders. (2) The proposal of practical execution of the church activities.
