Summary:碩士 === 南臺科技大學 === 休閒事業管理系 === 107 === The purpose of this study was to explore the perceived importance of competencies by travel agency salespersons and their supervisors in Tainan. The different individual backgrounds variables would be discussed in this study. This study employed questionnaire survey as the method, and adopted the “Occupational Competence Standard of Travel Agency Salesperson” published by iCAP platform as a research tool. The subjects of this study were travel agency salespersons and their supervisors in Tainan. 385 questionnaires were distributed from October 2018 to November 2018, and finally 364 valid questionnaires were received. The return rate was 94.5%. Descriptive statistics, item analysis, reliability and validity analysis, T-test, and one-way ANOVA were applied for data analysis. The results of data analysis showed that there were 73 male subject (20.1%),291 female subjects (79.9%); 98 supervisors (26.9%), 266 non-supervisors(73.1%); 132 graduating students from the Department of Tourism and Leisure(36.3%), 232 graduating students from other departments(63.7%). The average job tenure of tourism industry was 11 years. Main findings of this research were listed as below: 1.Travel agency salespersons and their supervisors with major, age, and educational background disclosed significant differences in the perceived importance of competencies on the aspect of professional knowledge. 2.Travel agency salespersons and their supervisors with position, gender, age and educational background revealed significant differences in the perceived importance of competencies on the aspect of professional skills. 3.Travel agency salespersons and their supervisors with position, gender, major, age, and educational background revealed significant differences in the perceived importance of competencies on the aspect of professional attitude.
