Summary: | 碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 建築與室內設計研究所 === 107 === During the 1930 period, cooperate with the construction of Urban Planning, police division was built back to Taitung Hall(in Japanese Ruled Period),and began to build a large number of official residences around the city hall, the police agency and the police quarters in Taitung City(in Japanese Ruled Period) were formally established. After the war, ROC National Government came to Taiwan,the police population were gradually increased in Taitung city, in addition to the new building-style dormitory(1956~1979), a large number of Japanese-style dormitory groups originally belonged to the Taitung County Government, were distributed under the Taitung County Police Station (1995), becoming the famous Tiehua Road Police Japanese-style dormitory.
Development of official dormitory buildings are often closely related to the social system, environment and culture during the Japanese occupation. However, the police dormitories have undergone above three periods of vicissitude, the differences in living habits between Taiwanese and Japanese, the original space pattern in the Japanese-style dormitory has been restructured. Even the building was demolished and rebuilt, and there were no signs of primitive remains. It is difficult to find the initial planning state of the official residence from the existing space texture.
This study is based on literature, historical evidence, and fieldwork, analyzes, discusses the vicissitude and development of the police dormitory groups in Taitung City, and the spatial composition of the official residences. It tries to clarify the police system, and applicable dormitory building codes. It analyzes and compares related cases. By tracing throngh the remain ofthe disappearing official residences, and attempt to restore the complete configuration of the police dormitories. At last, It proposes the correspondence between the police ranks of Taitung Hall(in Japanese Ruled Period) and the ranks of official residences, analysis of the vicissitude in the police dormitories building in Taitung City, further explore the preservation topics of historical relics.
