This thesis will also aid in the community’s perception of the people and will give awareness of the dance festival. This thesis believes the Festival satisfaction of the people will be better served if the community will be informed about its undertaking and the process of its celebration. Also, it is believed that festival tourism benefits the community. The research uses the interview method as a means to know the perception and awareness of the people of Lapu-Lapu City. Two questionnaires are given to the respondents who are purposively selected to answer the research questions. The purpose of the research seeks to find the awareness and perception of the people about the festival. In order to attain this goal, the following sub-problems had to be dealt with. First, educate the community on the importance and relevance of the Rampada Festival, its impact to the community, sustainability and promotion of the festival and its expressions in the Cebuano culture in Lapu-Lapu City. Second, Inform the people about the festival towards the promotion on resident’s awareness and perception towards the celebration of the festival, the people’s loyalty, awareness, and resident’s satisfaction, as well as the promotion of the cultural heritage of the city. Third, Disseminate the information to the involved people and the non-goers about the yearly activity in relation to its history through the use of media and technology. with the use of social media such as facebook or youtube or any related media. The study seeks to find the following questions. First, is there a need to educate the people in Lapu-Lapu City on the celebration of the Rampada Festival towards the relevance of the festival to the historic battle of Mactan? Next, is there a correlation relationship between the awareness of the people about the festival and to their perceived thought about its celebration in terms to its significance to the city? Lastly, is there a need to develop a video documentary on the promotion to provide awareness about the festival towards their perception and understanding about its celebration? The results reveals that though there are respondents who are familiar of the Rampada festival but it shows that there are lesser participation among them. The results also show that there is a need to connect the Rampada festival to the Battle of Mactan celebration and that it needs to educate the people about the historic meaning of the festival to be able to promote more the city’s most especially that it is an important part of the tourism in Lapu-Lapu City. The study recommends that educators most especially teachers who are handling physical education classes in Grade 9 should also incorporate the local festival in their lesson. As part of contextualization, for the benefit of the students to know the historical background of the Rampada festival. Providing them with information about the local festival is one way to promote the festival culturally. Second, to provide seminar-workshops to all those who are dance enthusiasts, choreographers, professional dancers, teachers to equip them with the background of the history of the festival and how it develops since then. It indicates that the interpretation is significant and the strength of correlation is strong positive. This cultural event and festival is a great advertisement of the city’s cultural heritage. Likewise, it is felt that the city needs to reciprocate and advertise and promote the Rampada festival more, in order to create festival sustainability. With the production of the video documentary about the local festival in Lapu-Lapu City, the Rampada festival will be known by the people and it shall be more participated in the next years to come.
