The purpose of this study is to understand the teachers’ organizational commitment, motivation-hygiene factors and personality in the public elementary schools in Tamsui District in New Taipei City, and to explore the relationship among organizational commitment, motivation-hygiene factors and personality. The methods of this study is based on the literatures reviewing, and then the preparing a questionnaire. Formal questionnaire has revised and completed after pre-test. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, ond-way ANOVA, analysis of correlation and regression analysis by SPSS 21. The results of the study are the highest level of effor willingness to the organizational commitment of the teachers. The highest motivation factor is work challenging and the highest hygiene factor is salary. The mean score of motivation factor is higher than the hygiene factor score. Teachers' personality are positive and the highest is conscientiousness. Organizational commitments are significantly related to motivation-hygiene factors, and personality. And the administrative teachers in the organization of commitment, willingness to work, appreciation, school environment is higher than the teachers. Substitute teachers are more aware of organizational identity, organizational commitment, school environment, school administration and personal learning growth than formal teachers. Unmarried teachers have a lower tendency to retain their jobs, and married teachers have higher affinity than unmarried teachers. Teachers are the most appreciated in more than 49 classes school. Teachers who have been teaching for a total of three years (inclusive) have the highest extroversion, agreeableness, emotional stability and personality. Aged from 30 to 39 years old teachers have the lowest extroversion, affinity, emotional stability and personality. According to the results of this study, it is recommended that schools should match the teacher's personality to meet the basic motivation-hygiene needs of teachers to improve teachers' organizational commitment.
