They are deeply buried in the closet for not being able to meet the mainstream social values. Accordingly, this study adopted ethnography, netnography and in-depth interviews of seven people who enjoy reading "homoerotic" furry texts to further explore their reading experience and coping strategies against stigma. Through a rich description, discussion, and analysis of furry fans culture, this study seeks to clarify the misunderstandings and stigma which they face while coming out and how they cope with it. The study found that during the process of reading the homoerotic furry fans possess a variety of reading pleasures. However, the multiple stigma labels imposed by the mainstream society and the prejudice and exclusion from the insiders of the otaku culture have made the homoerotic furry fans face a lot of pressure. However, the homoerotic furry fans are not merely passive victims. They actively take advantage of the multiple identity management on the Internet to conceal their true identity. In addition, they also take control of the information of their real life and decide who, how and when to disclose it. In doing so, the furry fans are able to defend their preferences in an unfriendly and constrained society. CHEN, MING-LI 陳明莉 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 105 zh-TW |
