Some may think their home is imperfect or not important, but it is undeniable that without it, we may not be who we are today. Famous English writer Charles Dickens once said,” It is a most miserable thing to feel ashamed of home” The well-known Taiwanese writer Echo also said, “Home is the source of happiness. When one is in distress, you can seek warmth from home, even slaves, when they have a home of their own don’t think that they’re pitiful.” Screenplay “My Special Sister” tells the story of the daily life of a girl with epilepsy and her family as well as the relationship between them. The themes of family and home is heavily discussed throughout. Set in the modern days of Malaysia, the girl faces tough situations of bullying at school and tense moments at home. Placed on the verge of losing her family and her life, she realizes the importance of her family. Yet the fresh start they are looking for has its own obstacles. The first chapter lays out the motive for the screenplay. The second chapter explores the topics of epilepsy and emotional blackmail. The third chapter includes the plot, ideas of character and film genre as well as the important elements for this screenplay. The fourth chapter includes the main story outline, character introductions and section summaries. The fifth chapter is the scripts with complete dialogue. The sixth chapter is the conclusion, with a complete review of this screenplay as well as a discussion on future screenplays based on this story.
