War movies usually contain the meaning of political propaganda and have the function of reproducing history. This study focuses on how to reproduce the image of the Kuomintang (Chinese Nationalist Party) and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the CCPs main melody war film. This article is based on the three war films of the Civil War period. " Fighting North and South", "The Founding of a Republic" and "Assembly" as the text, explore the narrative strategy of the CCPs main melody war film at different stages. The study found that the CCPs main melody war film in the narrative practice of each period, the "red classic" period of political propaganda is strong, the "main melody film commercialization" period combines commercial elements with the function of teaching and learning, "commercial film main melody" period Inspire the patriotism of the audience through profound emotional depiction. The only constant is to reproduce the image of the dual opposition between the two parties through the narrative of the film, thereby promoting the mainstream values of the country. The main melody film continues to be the mainstream of box office guarantee under the diversified development, and also forms the "Main Melody Type Movie" in the CCP film market.
