Summary: | 博士 === 中國文化大學 === 國家發展與中國大陸研究所博士班 === 107 === Chen Yun is generally acknowledged by the Chinese Communist Party as a great proletarian revolutionary, politician, and outstanding Marxist. He was one of the founders of China’s socialist economy and an outstanding leader of the party and the country. He spent his entire life striving for the liberation of the Mainland Chinese and building socialism. With his status and influence second to Deng Xiaoping, he was one of the Eight Great Eminent Officials (Eight Elders) of the Communist Party of China.
This paper started from Chen Yun’s ideology of dedicating himself to the service of his country’ in his early years, and his participation in the labor movement including workers’ strikes and other actions, and the peasants’ armed struggle. Chen Yun joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1925 and officially joined the Chinese Communist Revolution for Liberation of the People; during the Yenan Period in 1937, he served as the Head of CPC Central Organization Department for seven years attached great importance to building the Party and wrote the basic theories of the party building ideas, such as “How to be a Communist”, “The Party’s Branches”, “Consolidate the Party and Strengthen Mass Work”, “Strictly Adhere to the Party’s Discipline”, “Issues Related to Cadres’ Work”, “Speak the Truth, Not the Face”, and so on. He provided theoretical ideas and claims for the forward-looking party building ideas and made contributions by setting an example personally. This paper ended with the time of party building as well as national economic construction and development after the nation building in 1992.
In addition, the author adopted the “comparative method” to analyze the dimensions, such as personality, finance and economics, and politics (government and party) for Chen Yun, Mao Zedong, and Deng Xiaoping. A comparison was made through the “Tripartition”, thereby explaining their decision-making and thinking inclination as the elder leaders for the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In terms of data collection, compilation, and analysis, the qualitative research methods were adopted, including “historical research approach”, literature research approach”, and “behavioral research approach”, etc.
The research theme in the paper consists of seven parts: “Chen Yun’s early years and enlightenment”, “Origin and development of Chen Yun’s party building ideological and philosophical theory”, “Development of Chen Yun’s party building ideology”, “Chen Yun’s party building system ideology”, “Chen Yun’s party leadership building ideology”, “Contribution of Chen Yun’s party building ideology”, and “The historical turning point of Chen Yun’s party building after the Cultural Revolution”. In the literature review, the different aspects of the relvant literature were examined to serve as a reference for the argumentation and planning of the research direction in this paper.
