During it was promoted by Nabtesce in 1985. So far, the development been processed for more than 3 decades has made the technique of RV well enough. More techniques were developed and more RV reducers’ patents was filed. However, the mentioned situations also increase the difficulty of RV reducer development during these years. The author put forward a process: analyze, assemble and program evaluation. This process can be used for the design of RV reducer structure. The details are as following, In the first stage, "analyze". We need to collect the related information about patents for the product which we want to design. After collecting the lecture, we peruse the related patents and compare them to the users' demanded. By decomposing all the functions, we can gradually understand what kinds of functions do the product been equipped with, and which of these functions can match the users' requirement. After comparing all the functions and users' requirement, we can build a "function system" by adopting these features. The function system is been designed for the purposes of classifying the patents which we collected, and build the "patent map". It is a database, all the information been uploaded on it could be taken as references when we are designing new products. The second stage is "assembled". After collecting useful data at the first stage, we assemble those functions which can match users' requirement and make it a new product. First of all, we can get users' requirements in the step of function decomposition, then we contrast them to the function system and patent map. As soon as we found there are too many possibly compatible options in the patent map, we can use the HOQ as assistance. By grading all the functions, the quantization indexes can be references for us to make decisions for better solutions. After that, we can assemble all the skills together, getting a new program for the product's design. The final stage is "program evaluation". We can use the computer aid graphic design to evaluate the program’s practicality which we get in the stage of assembling. As our description in the previous paragraph, this study follows the process proposed by the author. After collecting 160 patents which are correlated to RV reducer, we decomposition all of them and build a "function system", which includes 9 subsystems and 26 components, Assuming the users' requirements are "reduce the noise transmission" and "replacement of engine oil". Using this system to classify the patents and build the patent map, and the house of quality help us to find the proper functions and patent’s skill. Finally, we use the Inventer software to evaluate the program’s practicality, for instance, the mechanical structure and hardware components’ using situation. After finishing the above stages, this study gets three types of RV reducers: 1. The RV reducer which using the structure and bearing to make Input shaft’s concentricity better. 2. A mechanism which can help user adjusting the transmission shaft to let its gear operate better. 3.
