The spontaneous vertical alignment of LC molecules on ITO glasses by doping HSA into LCs was examined. This characteristic is very convenient due to the simple fabrication process. Multistable characteristic by doping HSA into LCs was examined. Various sample temperatures and fabrication times at a high temperature were tested in the experiments. The results demonstrated that the pretilt angle of the LC molecules can be controlled by sample temperature and fabrication time at a high temperature.
