Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立聯合大學 === 建築學系碩士班 === 107 === Seven years ago, researcher started the “Integrated Community Development” work with local village. And finished the transformation and activation of 3 local public places with residents. While fiding out the change of village / community / countryside along with social changes, there also including the changes of spatial usage which caused problem of unused public spaces. We did observation and research while making lots of changes through the “participatory planning” with community. Meanwhile, about unused spaces, we had gave new energy and useage to improve community development. But, after 3 years later, only few places keep working. Most of them had been abandoned again when we came back to check. So, the research motivation is going to investigate current phenomenon. And, the research purpose is getting the reflection from POE(Post-occupancy Evaluation). Thus, here we’re going to observe and analyze that if the unused public space will meet community requirements after having transformation through “participatory planning” with the residents of community, and having comments by reviewing the cause and effect of unusable transforming-spaces. The following are final conclusion of the research and analysis: 1. With higher public participation and recognition on unusable spaces, they will affect the locals’ carness about the spaces and willingness to join the following maintenance. But, if the space function turns differently, like different life patterns or using habits, we still can’t expect that will be keeping existence. 2. Basically, public participation won’t be affected so much if transforming program just about to meet their expection. But, if it is over, that will lost most of participation quickly. To overcome these difficulties, increasing experiences, abilities and confidence of participants at first will be the solusion. 3. The main and most significant reason for the continuity of tramsformed spaces is about the process of using space, Whether it can meet the residents’ previous life patterns or meet the real living needs. 4. Recognition of tramsformed spaces from residents mainly depends on how much did they participate and the connection with life patterns. The two elements are interactive. So, we can take how much recognition do residents have as an indicator to assess the spatial continuity, which have positive relation with.
