Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 戲劇學系 === 107 === “Re/turn”, with its premiere on April 15, 2011 on the 6th floor auditorium at Eslite flagship store (XinYi Branch), was part of the Tainaner Ensemble works, which was directed by Pao-Chang Tsai. This show was produced due to the invitation of Eslite Spring Stage. “Re/turn” uses the “Door Handle” as a trigger, leading the characters to travel through time to find the regrets in life by returning to the past. This play has not only gained high reputation by the audience, but also been reproduced several times. Moreover, there is always a new post-credits scene after every curtain call, which successfully brings audience back to the theater again and again. Through Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory, this article attempts to analyze five channels of Tainaner Ensemble’s “Re/turn”: the visual signs of “stage set”, “lighting”, “props”, “costume” and “gestural signs”, to construct spectacles and images in plays, and discuss the features and interaction of visual signs in theaters.
