Change leadership, i.e. values and skills of the leader, holds the key to successful organizational change. When the environment or the goal of the organization changes or the organization is pursuing organizational growth, the leader of an organization may re-design the policy, operation or culture through organizational change. When the leader is leading the change, he or she must face many issues of leadership, management or communication. Moreover, he or she may face resistance and obstacles during the change process. This research re-creates a real case in the L Group, delineating the purpose, process, and consequences of an organizational change, to understand the interplay between culture and change. The effective change leadership, including skills in planning and implementing the change through persuasion and attitude change, tactics to engage and foster identification of employees and customers is the highlight of this case. The present study took the vantage point of the leader to unravel the success factors in this case, and reflected upon alternative ways of leading the change.
