Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 進修部教育行政碩士班(夜間) === 106 === The purpose of this study was to apply the six elements of description (people, matters, time, location, things, and adjectives), imagery, and animation in the development of a scaffolding for sentence writing for third-graders. The aim of such program was to help students learn to write better and more complete sentences while boosting their motivation to write. The author used the action research method, the subjects of the study being 29 students at a certain elementary school in Taitung County. The study was carried out during one class per week for a period of nine weeks. Afterwards, the author collected and analyzed the group and individual sentence-writing worksheets, pre- and post-program evaluations, and the teaching reflection form. Based on such data, the author found the following: 1. Five of the elements of description helped the students write more complete sentences. 2. All six of the elements of description helped the students write better sentences. 3. Imagery and animation helped boost the students’ motivation to write.
