Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 進修部暑期幼兒教育碩士班 === 107 === Analyzing the Result of Indigenous Language Caregiver Grants Project from Family Interviewers’ Perspective Chen-Chen Nine Department of Early Childhood Education, National Taitung University Abstract The aim of this study is to investigate the result of “Indigenous Language Caregiver Grants Project” (ILCGP) on the present situation from indigenous interviewers’ perspective. 70 interviewers in this survey are from the Council of Indigenous Peoples who participated in Indigenous Language Caregiver Grants Project and Indigenous Language Rooted Project from 2013 to 2016. Conducted by questionnaires, including open-ended questions, this study analyzes the opinion of family interviewers on the ILCGP and on the difficulties as well as suggestions of children learning their heritage language. In addition, the researcher analyzes the relation between background variables and how indigenous language caregivers put their work into practice on the project. At the end of this study, according to the result of this research, the investigator has given some suggestions related to this study. The result of this study is as follows: 1. The performance of indigenous language caregivers carrying out their work, inheritance of children learning the indigenous language, is satisfactory. The result of interviewers’ work is more effective than moderate performance. This indicates the overall performance of interviewers is satisfactory; additionally, 95 percent of the interviewers agreed or strongly agreed with the aforementioned project. 2. The difficulties and indigenous interviewers’ suggestion of children learning their heritage language are presented below. The difficulties are: indigenous language caregivers didn’t actively encourage children to speak the indigenous language; emotions and peer factor affect children’s habit of speaking an indigenous language; family-related factor, external factor, and being unsupported by the administrative unit are the difficulties as well. As to the suggestions: indigenous language caregivers are supposed to attend a refresher course. Moreover, the result of children’s learning should be repeated and children should be encouraged to learn; parents should cooperate and they should all conduct diversified learning from each other, and to create a native language learning environment through each activity to offer more opportunities to use indigenous language. Indigenous caregivers are supposed to carry out speaking in the native indigenous language. Furthermore, changing of how an indigenous caregiver reacts to children, all the family members speaking in an indigenous language and promoting this idea to get more clansmen involved are also advised to this project. 3. Analyzing the background variables and indigenous language caregivers on inheritance project of indigenous language show the significance. Interviewers think that the education level of caregivers and their indigenous language listening skills significantly affect this indigenous language inheritance project differently. Finally, according to the study result, it is provided as a reference for revitalizing indigenous language and the policies of ILCGP. The researcher expects children to speak the indigenous language in family, community, and indigenous ethnic groups as a goal.
