A comparative analysis of the differences in the degree of feeling before and after the activities of the same Taichung residents was conducted to explore the benefits and costs of the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition and the impact on their happiness. A total of 251 valid questionnaires were collected in this study. The results showed that residents in Taichung City perceived tha positive impact on their personal benefits, social benefits, and economic benefits. In addition, after the event were held, the changes were found in cognition and attitude which residents per-ceived the influence of personal benefits increased, while the impact of perceived social costs decreased. The results of this study would help government agencies to understand the residents’ feelings in the venues of large-scale international events, providing reference for future government-related units to hold large-scale interna-tional events and future research directions for scholars.
