Method adopted in this research is action research approach and the subject of the research is a fifth grade class in a Taipei elementary school. This research focuses on developing the Combination of Reading and Writing Teaching Module with SMARTER reading to investigate the student’s reading comprehension and writing progress after implementing project approach in the case class, and to probe the teaching specialized growth and introspection of the researcher during the teaching process and also to provide teachers useful references while applying the Combination of Reading and Writing Teaching Module with Smart Reading. The results of this research are listed as below: 1. Results of the Combination of Reading and Writing Teaching Module with Smart Reading methodology for fifth grade students: (1) Make an efficient class with A teaching Module via SMARTER reading (2) To offer students brand-new reading point and writing material of views by reading auxiliary via the Combination of Reading and Writing. 2. Studying effects of the fifth grade student’s reading and writing: (1) Students give significant improvement in reading and writing from examination performance after learning the Combination of Reading and Writing Teaching Module with Smart Reading. This new teaching module can promote student’s performance in both reading and writing skills. (2) Up to 100% of students like The Combination of Reading and Writing Teaching Module with Smart Reading and have strong motivation to continue learning this program. This research shows that this new teaching module benefits student’s learning interests of reading. 3. Specialized growth and introspection of the researcher: (1) Researcher considers that it can effectively reach the goal of teaching by the combination of reading comprehension and writing to apply the students¬-centered teaching model. (2) During this action research progress, researcher acquires teaching edification from varies of discussion and introspection which also enhances the professional ability in teaching.
