However, for young children, parental attitude toward and parental participation in exercise-games are more important than what they experience in the preschools. Thus, this study aimed to discuss the relationship between parental attitude toward and participation in children exercise-games and children’s gross motor ability and whether parental participation in children exercise-games could mediate the effect of parental attitude toward children exercise-games on children’s gross motor ability. The survey method was applied to investigate the levels of the three major variables. Regression analyses was applied to test the relationship among parental attitude toward the children exercise-game, parental participation in children exercise game, and children ability of gross motor; furthermore, whether the parental participation mediated the effect of parental attitude on children’s gross motor ability was accessed. Participated families (parent-child dyads) from the affiliated preschools of public elementary school and public preschools in Taipei and New Taipei City were recruited and the data was collected from 121 families for the research. According to the research results, both parental attitude and participation efficiently predicted the children’s ability of gross motor. Additionally, parental attitude could also significantly predict parental participation. Moreover, parental participation fully mediated the effect of parental attitude on children’s gross motor ability, which indicated that parental attitude precisely predicted the ability of children gross motor through parental participation. Hence, based on the results, we strongly suggested that parents are encouraged to hold positive attitude toward children exercise-games, join the games with children, and provide opportunities to exercise more. All will effectively promote children’s ability of gross motor. LIN,YI-CHING 林宜靜 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 89 zh-TW
