Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 藝術與造形設計學系碩士班 === 107 === Head is the dominant organ to control our body’s operation and development; either achievement or nameless existence which is also determined by Head, therefore, we may see that the brain of famous scientist nowadays has still been researched. A head portrait or sculpture possesses a high-level characteristic being often used as a symbol, representing relevant things or objects; for instance, the Buddha Head, or the Death Head in Mayan culture (serve as a warning function), symbolizes the implication to pass down its religion. In the aspect of artistic expression, it has been used to express the individual reverie except for commemoration in the initial period, furthermore, artists also wildly apply it onto the graphic art, 3-D art, and installation art. Basic upon the concept of “Unreasonable objects to be placed in the reasonable space”, the author intends to use the “Head Sculpture” as a motif to break away its body link and create a new domain or combine it with other ready-made works, and further to demonstrate an art expression on its subject /background /location /space /angle; from these traditional viewpoint and operation, we may inspire the possibility of artic creation. This essay of creative research is to specify the creative background, technique, and expression contained in 20 works, including the 3-D and graphic work, figuration, abstraction, mixing use of Chinese-and-Western painting technique, and expression of contemporary art. In the final part of this essay, the author also proposes the possible direction in respect of the future creating development. Keywords: Head / Location / Symbol
