The subjects were 7th grade middle school students, randomly assigned experimental group and control group, each group contained 10 male and 15 female students. The experimental group was given 12 weeks of plyometric training, twice a week for 20 minutes each time; the control group only conducted general physical education courses. Before the experiment, the subjects must fill in the parental consent form. The plyometric training kept principle of progression, training skill started from simple to complicated, but the total volume of training (number of sets * repetitions) was similar. The data collected before and after the test were compared with the paired samples t-test to analyze the speed, explosive power and speed endurance between the groups. The statistically significant level was determined as α = .05. As a result, after training, the experimental group had a better performance to the control group in speed, explosive power and speed endurance, and reached a significant level (p < .05). But speed endurance did not reach significant level in female students. The conclusion of this study was that the plyometric training had a significant improvement effect on the speed, explosive power and speed endurance performance in male adolescent.
