Summary:碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 特殊教育學系 === 107 === The purpose of this study was to examine the effects augmentative and alternative communication(AAC)system on improving communication and reducing problem behaviors for children with language delays. Participants were two five years old children with language delays. The single subject design of A-B-M with self-made observation forms was utilized to evaluate the effects of AAC on increasing communication and reducing problem behaviors. The visual analysis was adopted to monitor the two dependent variables. After implementing the intervention, both parents and classroom teacher were interviewed to understand their perspectives regarding the change of communication and problem behaviors for targeted participants. Based on the findings, this study yields the following conclusions: 1. The use of AAC on improving communication for children with language delays have an immediate and long-lasting effect. 2. The use of AAC on reducing problem behaviors for children with language delays have an immediate and long-lasting effect. 3. Both parents and teacher show positive perspectives regarding the effects of AAC on improving communication and reducing problem behaviors.
