I am a mother, daughter-in-law, teacher, and research student. I live in a different city from my family during the week. During the semester, at my kindergarten, I care for other parents' young children but, as a working mother, I do not have enough time to be with and play with my own daughter. I am only able to spend time with her during holidays and weekends. In this research, I consider how Xin-Xin and I are building our relationship as well understanding her movement development and growth. I use narrative inquiry to tell our story in depth, the processes involved, and of our interaction and my experiences. Xin-Xin was learning to walk at the time. We started to embrace each other. When a mother and young child open their arms to each other, it looks simple but it establishes a connection with feeling. The process is very positive and acts as a stimulus to the child. It builds safety, attachment and relationship. Toys and other objects can also be used to make a better connection with the very young and build a comfortable environment in which they are fully supported. The whole family, in particular myself, Xin-Xin and her father, play together. This helps develop my daughter's physical coordination as well as bringing us closer together. As her control develops and her shift of weight becomes more stable, she is able to start to walk and climb up and down the staircase. We stay very close to her to protect her but, at the same time, let her explore for herself. The use of eyes, the very act of watching by parents, gives encouragement. Their physical support also helps young children's movement development and advances their social behavior, interaction and skills. The use of toys designed to be played with percussively helps initiate music and movement simultaneously and spontaneously. Together, this all brings Xin-Xin and I, daughter and mother, much closer. We are happy as we play together. Liu, Shu-Ying 劉淑英 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 86 zh-TW |

碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士在職專班 === 107 === This research inquiry considers my own experiences as a working mother and how I develop my relationship with my daughter, Xin-Xin, through child-parent movement play.
Their physical
support also helps young children's movement development and advances their social behavior, interaction and skills. The use of toys designed to be played with percussively helps initiate music and movement simultaneously and spontaneously. Together, this all brings Xin-Xin and I, daughter and mother, much closer. We are happy as we play together.
