The acupuncture care record process can improve the current record method to improve patient safety through informationization. This study aims to develop mobile APP and apply it to acupuncture care to assess the quality of mobile APP messaging and its utility, and to compare time and cost with traditional ways.
The qusai-experimental design was used in the non-equal control group and divided into the control group and the intervention group.Experiment was conducted in a Taipei regional hospital from December 2018 to January 2019 for data collection.Medical staff is to conduct a message quality survey with a self-made questionnaire. Evaluate utility with a structured questionnaire (the System Usability Scale, SUS). The time of the acupuncture recording process was measured and the results of the two groups were compared.
The developed Mobile APP "Acupuncture Image Needle System" patented with patent number: M561880. According to the number of needles applied to the part, the number of stitches is recorded in the part by the pull-down menu. When the acupuncture record is completed, the system will sum up according to the number of needles currently selected. When the time is pressed according to the time setting, the countdown will be performed, and the current screen will be locked until the countdown ends. When the countdown ends, you need to press the Enter button to stop ringing. After the ringing is finished, the system screen will automatically switch to the needle exit screen. At this time, the number of needles in the upper part of the figure will be maintained in each part, so that the caregiver can quickly confirm the position where the needle is distributed. When abnormalities occur and needles are abnormal, they can also be recorded and stored in the cloud database, so that they can be read or analyzed in the future when they need to review.
The medical staff in this study had high satisfaction with the quality of mobile application messaging, which reach significantly different (p < .05); the satisfaction with usability was also high, and the average score of the SUS was 62.17 points; however, the time spent on recording acupuncture with mobile APP is longer than with traditional needle-board records (p<.001).
Although the operating time of the mobile APP intervention is longer than the traditional team, the medical staff has a high degree of satisfaction with the quality of mobile APP messaging delivery and utility was acceptable.
