As the cost of raw materials for electromechanical engineering and engineering design usually accounts for nearly 70% of the overall project cost, and many of the original materials in Taiwan are mainly imported, the fluctuation of foreign raw material prices has a huge impact on engineering costs. Fluctuations can affect the profitability and even survival of related companies. Therefore, understanding the changes in the prices of raw materials abroad, the impact on the price of related raw materials in Taiwan is indeed a top priority for related companies. The main research direction is the correlation between foreign raw material prices and domestic motor engineering raw material prices and price impact analysis. This study analyzes the correlation coefficient and impact response to explore the trend of price changes of major materials in the electromechanical engineering industry. Correlation coefficient results show that LME zinc futures have a moderate correlation with galvanized steel pipes, and price trends and fluctuations are also close to each other; LME copper futures are highly correlated with wire and cable indices, and price trends and fluctuations are quite close; (except HDPE tubes) has no correlation with Brent crude oil futures. The results of the impact response analysis show that the LME copper futures price change has the greatest impact on the wire and cable index, and the Brent crude oil futures change has the least impact on the plastic rigid pipe (except HDPE pipe) index. In terms of impact time, LME copper futures prices and Brent crude oil futures prices have a faster impact, while LME zinc futures prices have a more moderate impact.
