The images can be protected by visible watermarking to avoid the misuse. In general, the visible watermarking technique embeds a recognizable logo into the image in a visible manner. Reversible data hiding (RDH) technology embeds information into an image to obtain a watermarked image, and the cover image can be completely recovered when the information is retrieved. This study proposes a reversible visible watermarking technique for gray-level images. The watermark is embedded into the region of interest (ROI) of the cover image in a visible manner, and the related information is embedded into the Non-Interest (RONI) of the cover image in an invisible manner. If the related information is retrieved from the RONI, then the image can be recovered without distortion by the proposed method. In the experiments, five 512 × 512 gray-level images, “Airplane”, ”Baboon”, “Lake”, “Lena”, and “Truck”, are used to measure the performance.
