The animal shelters in Taiwan are forbidden to kill stray animals. Although such policies have made the stray animals no longer have "12 nights" pressure, the number of dogs and cats are still increasing, there is no proper care in the shelters, which creates pressure on the human resources of the shelters.
Many kindness people have opened the way to care for the mid-course animals and take care of the animals in various ways. One of them is the mid-way animal restaurant. It is no longer dangerous for the stray animals to find their way home, but the business model of the midway animal restaurant is different from the general restaurant.
This study explores the background and motivation of mid-course animal restaurant operators, Through in-depth interviews to understand the dilemma of mid-course animal restaurants, and through five management functions to analyze the business model of mid-course animal restaurants, and finally use the analysis results of the interview content to make suggestions for improvement.
Midway animal restaurant business model is the most financial headache for operators. Most of them will set a donate platform, or donate materials, so they can use these on dogs and cats, and also reduce some economic pressure. In addition, they need many volunteers to assist the various operating parts of the store to reduce labor costs. Taiwan’s government department are not sure about the implementation of the Animal Protection Law exactly. They must solve the problem of abandonment and the quantity of stray animals, and should respect and care for animals. Human beings should not deprive animals rights and treat life on an equal footing. The people's mentality of caring for animals, starting from the education in life, can accurately solve the fundamental problems.
