Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄科技大學 === 化學工程與材料工程系 === 107 === In order to prevent Iodine vapor pollution from burning the activated carbon absorbing the target elements of Iodine and Boron from polarizing plate wastewater, this research investigated the effect of different desorption solutions on target elements. The ICP data illustrated that only Iodine and Boron were found in the desorption solution. Moreover, the data showed that the optimum parameters were on the concentration of desorption solution of sodium hydroxide aqueous of 5%, following rate of 1 L/min and contact time of 80 min. In the following section, the effects of different concentrations and molecular weights of PVA solution and PVA solutions coated on PVA sponge on the Boron removal efficiencies were discussed. The experimental data showed that the Boron removal efficiency of the pure Boron solution is 82% and slightly reduced to 71% on the Iodine-Boron desorption solution at the PVA concentration of 5 wt %, PVA molecular weight of 87,000 and viscosity of 30 cps. Furthermore, it also found that Boron removal rate was 98% and 90% at the pure Boron solution on volume of water output of 0~5 mL and 0~20 mL, respectively; however, the Boron removal rate reduced to 87% and 74% at the Iodine-Boron desorption solution on volume of water output of 0~5 mL and 0~20 mL, respectively.
