The study also analyzed the sources of academic stress of the subjects from different backgrounds. There were 860 valid study questionnaires. Descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, and Scheffe` post hoc statistical method were used to analyze the data. The findings were as follows: 1. Junior high school students’ recreational activities were divided as "entertainment type", "social type", "knowledge type", " leisure type" and "sport type". 2. Different backgrounds would make significant difference in recreational activities. 3. The “school factor” played the most significant part in the academic stress perception, followed by the "personal factor " and then the "family factor". 4. The different background variables resulted in significant differences in the academic stress on the junior high school students. 5. In all the areas, the participation of recreational activities was positively related to the academic stress. The suggestions were provided based on the findings: 1. In the planning of the activity, there should be more accessible channels for students to get information of recreational activities. The activities can be combined with the community to reduce regional obstacles. 2. Schools should implement a variety of courses to give students a sense of accomplishment; they can also get more skills and information. 3. Parents' support will enable students to explore their own strengths, to learn more, and to discuss recreational activities with their parents. 4. Interviews with the study cases are suggested to involve in the further study to obtain more and deeper information. To know more about the situation of nationwide teenagers’ recreational activities and academic stress, the study areas and age groups can be expanded. Huang, Mei-Jen 黃美珍 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 98 zh-TW
