Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 人力與知識管理研究所 === 107 === With the development of the Internet and the popularity of mobile phones, there are more and more people using social media for receiving information and expressing their opinions. PTT forum is a fast dual-directional communication tool with more than 20,000 new articles published every day. PTT forum provide a platform for extensive discussion; the vast flow can make events and issues to spread quickly. The netizen who come from different backgrounds can exchange ideas with each other. The anonymous netizens can express their own ideas and opinion on PTT without any restrictions based on freedom of speech, which becomes collective intelligence. Therefore, the content of PTT forum can be extracted as a reflection on people's thoughts instantly. By virtue of the characteristics of PTT, this study aims to study the public opinions on the government's policies using labor law as an example, and to discuss whether the opinions can reflect as part of the opinions of general public. This study used R language and web crawler technique to extract articles from PTT. After data pre-treatment, term frequency and sentiment analysis (positive or negative opinion) were performed to test the hypothesis whether the PTT articles can reflect public opinions. Results show that the sentiment analysis is in accordance to the public opinion based on the two amendments of Labor Law in 2016 and 2018. Our result may be applied in other subjects for instant public opinion acquisition. At last, more research is needed to fully exploit this new method.
