The research applied the methods of questionnaire survey, using “Perception of Interparental Intimate Relationships Scale, Parent-Child Interaction Scale and High School Students’ Intimate Relationship Scale” as research instruments. Senior high school students of Kaohsiung were selected as the sample population of the questionnaire survey through stratified random sampling according to the size and the type of schools (public or private), 771 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of the study are listed as follows: 1. The perceptions of interparental intimate relationship among high school students in Kaohsiung was at the level of upper-intermediate. 2. Parent-child interaction among high school students in Kaohsiung was at the level of upper-intermediate. 3. The intimate relationship among high school students in Kaohsiung was slightly better than the level of upper-intermediate. 4. There was significant differences between various dimensions of perception of the interparental intimate relationship of high school students from different backgrounds. 5. There was significant differences between various dimensions of parent-child interaction of high school students from different backgrounds. 6. There was significant differences between various dimensions of intimate relationship of high school students from different backgrounds. 7. The high school students’ perceptions of interparental intimate relationship was correlated between moderate and modest to the intimate relationship of high school students. 8. The high school students’ parent-child interaction was correlated between moderate and modest to the intimate relationship of high school students. 9. The high school students’ perceptions of the interparental intimate relationship and parent-child interaction may serve as predictors of their intimate relationship. Finally, based on the results, this study provides some suggestions for educators, parents, high school students and future studies.
