Defending these three relies on a strong and powerful national defense force, which is the foundation of the national defense. The strength of our force originally came from conscription when the National Government retrograded to Taiwan. The military service system has transitioned from conscription to combined voluntary and conscripted one and currently all-voluntary force, which shows the effectiveness of military recruitment at all levels. Countries all over the world have made all the efforts to recruit military, including various propaganda methods such as posters, image advertisements, activities, related performances, military films and military TV dramas (hereinafter referred to as military education films and military dramas)etc. Among them, the famous film works on military education in recent years include "Super Battleship" (US Hasbro Film Company, 2012), "Tai Chi Flag" and "Taiji Flag 2 Life and Death Brothers" (Korean Jiangdi Film Company, 2004), "Assembly" (Huayi Brothers Media Co., Ltd., People's Republic of China, 2007); TV series works include "The End of the Day" (American Turner Broadcasting Corporation, 2014), "The Descendants of the Sun" (Barronson Entertainment, South Korea), (Entertainment, 2015), "War Wolf" (People's Republic of China Spring and Autumn Times (Tianjin) Film Co., Ltd. and Beijing Dengfeng International Culture Communication Co., Ltd., 2015). The aforementioned works are not only widely loved by the people, but also bring a lot of discussion. They have demonstrated a very positive image of the military and left a great impression on the public.
However, the cost of shooting a military film(drama) is much more expensive than that of other marketing methods. Whether the military film can be continued depends on the popularity of it. The purpose of this study is to discuss whether the military education film has a positive influence on the youth’s willingness to serve in the military. In addition to the quality of the military film itself, the effectiveness of recruitment is still affected by the society environment and national policies. Therefore, this study explores the recruitment of voluntary soldiers by military inquiries through three aspects: social environment, recruiting policy, and marketing. The key factors of the outcome are expected to be the reference for the recruiting strategy of the armed forces
